Regex Builder

I found a great little tool today called Regex Builder. It's a simple .net app that lets you put in a regex string and a piece of text and it will tell you if your regex validates and whether or not your text matches the regex. You can add multiple lines to validate. Great tool, and open source.

( 3 / 52 )Virtual World
Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 02:34 PM - Technology, XP
I've been playing with some toys that I have found to make my world virtual. After continuous slowdowns on my development machine, etc I decided I would try a reformat, put office and IM on the main machine, and put everything else into a virtual. I'll let you know how that works out soon.
So far I have used vmware convert to convert my hard drive to a vmdk file, and am converting my .vmdk file to a .vhd file so I can use it with Virtual PC. I am also investigating using MakeVM (for $19 how can you go wrong) to go straight to a .vhd.
More on that later.

( 2.9 / 215 )Virtual Drives on MyBook's
Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 02:31 PM - Technology, XP
I have been trying for a few days now to get a single, 55gb virtual hard drive (.vhd) to work on my new 1tb MyBook. Every tool I tried, it would get to about 4.1XXXK (just under 4gb) and then it would die, saying that the drive wasn't writable.
After about the 5th try (yeah, I'm that slow) I went to the WD site to see if this was a hard limit, and found my issue. The drive is formatted to fat32, which has a max file size of 4.1gb minus 1 byte. Coincidence? I think not. Now I am waiting the approximately 12 hours to format the 1tb as NTFS and then we'll see if I can't make the move!

( 2.9 / 237 )Do you hate ZENworks?
Monday, March 31, 2008, 11:57 AM - Technology, Linux
I you run OpenSUSE like me, you probably run across the "Synchronize with ZENworks" checkbox every time you change your update sources, and occasionally you forget to uncheck it, and it takes FOREVER to synchronize, only to tell you that it failed.
If you hate this as much as I do, then try this:
rpm -e zmd libzypp-zmd-backend sqlite-zmd rug
Presto! zenworks tools are uninstalled, and the option is greyed out in YAST!!

( 3 / 199 )GPP_K
Tuesday, October 9, 2007, 08:17 PM - Technology
After a long couple of days, I was able to unlock my linksys PAP2 phone adapter so I could make sip (VOIP) calls on any voip provider. After I had my firmware downgraded to 3.1.6, I was able to just tell it to pull a tftp "upgrade" to a new firmware, I turned automatic provisioning off, and then I was able to upgrade to the latest linksys firmware. It's now unlocked, and I was able to grab my GPP_K key, in case it gets locked again. If you are looking for your GPP_K key, it should look something like this:
LiRkUPwSRolm5knmrsJO9FbjY6ful3y+5VZdzBdF2lo=
Hope this helps.
