Tools of the Trade

I saw a snipped of code this morning that really made me laugh. I know, it sounds strange, laughing at a piece of code. The code was automatically created by a code generation system, and it automatically inserted a comment at the top, as is often the case. The funny part was how it read:

// ------------------------------------------------------------------
// This code was generated by a tool.
// ------------------------------------------------------------------

which inspired me to create this Though for the Day

"Even code written by man is often generated by a tool."

It's not a phone booth

So maybe it's me. Let me know if I'm being over-sensative, but when I go into a public restroom and my phone rings, I don't answer it. It doesn't matter who is calling, they can wait the 5 minutes it takes me to finish my work, wash my hands, and call them back. I personally think it is rude for someone to even answer their phone, let alone carry on a conversation!

I have found a solution that seems to work pretty well, that you may want to employ. When they begin their conversation, reach back and give the bowl a little "mid-session" flush. If they have any sense of decency at all, they will be embarrased and think twice about answering the phone in the future. Although, I guess if you think about it, if they HAD any sense of decency, they would never had answered the phone in the first place.
